In a gallery in Paris, two Fine Art students shared a passion for design and a fascination with pattern. After forming an everlasting friendship, they moved to London with a dream to bring their drawings to life and introduce ESTAMPE & Co to the world.
Translated to ‘stamp’, ESTAMPE & Co is the fusion of two French artist/designers drawing practices. Loïc and Anne-Sophie were first friends and design enthusiasts but they now add business partners to their repertoire. Celebrating a mutual love of pattern, ESTAMPE & Co embraces the repetitive nature of the traditional stamp genre. Bold colour choices and innovative application have enabled ESTAMPE & Co to transform this ancient concept into a product for the contemporary home.
The duos first full collection is inspired by endangered tribes and species of the Amazon. Available as a print or wallpaper, Amazonia aims to raise awareness about the lives that are threatened in this region and propose a new mythology. Lush and bright, just light the Amazon Rainforest, the collection utilises tone to create a gradient effect.
Amazonia’s design “𝓲𝓷𝓿𝓲𝓽𝓮𝓼 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓬𝓾𝓼𝓽𝓸𝓶𝓮𝓻𝓼 𝓽𝓸 𝓭𝓲𝓿𝓮 𝓲𝓷𝓽𝓸 𝓪 𝓱𝔂𝓹𝓷𝓸𝓽𝓲𝓬 𝓾𝓷𝓲𝓿𝓮𝓻𝓼𝓮 𝓫𝓮𝓽𝔀𝓮𝓮𝓷 𝓭𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓶 𝓪𝓷𝓭 𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓵𝓲𝓽𝔂, 𝔀𝓱𝓮𝓻𝓮 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓵𝓲𝓷𝓮𝓼 𝓭𝓪𝓷𝓬𝓮 𝓸𝓷 𝔂𝓸𝓾𝓻 𝔀𝓪𝓵𝓵𝓼,” says Loïc and Anne-Sophie.
Social issues and sustainability are very important to Loïc and Anne-Sophie as they aim to create responsible design and use the ESTAMPE & Co brand to make a difference. The duo only uses manufacturers in France and the UK, environmentally-friendly paper, and non-toxic, eco ink. They also give 5% of their earnings to organisations promoting the use of sustainable resources and others that protect endangered wildlife and indigenous tribes.
After only selling their products on Etsy for six months, Loïc and Anne-Sophie were recently named the winners of the Etsy Awards Home & Living Category. Receiving recognition from a professional jury meant a lot to the design duo as they continue to evolve ESTAMPE & Co, expand their product range, collaborate with interior designers, and keep doing what they love. A new collection called Arctica is expected to launch in September.
