After two years of being back home, my recent travels to the land Down Under were a beautiful combination of family, friends and fabulous food. Check out my journey in this series of mouthwatering #foodporn… Enjoy!
What use to be the local pub and where I spent way too much money when I first turned 18, has had a complete makeover and is now called Park House Food & Liquor (very fancy!) The food was absolutely amazing! Although some dishes could’ve done without being swamped in Chimmichurri, I was blown away by the fresh flavours and melt-in-your-mouth ingredients.
For those who have younger sisters, you’ll understand … most of the time they drive you crazy but there’s no one else like them! After a long walk around the lake, we stopped in at another favourite spot of mine and where I use to work as a teenager, The Boatshed Cafe and Bar. With Limani upstairs and owned by the same family, both of these restaurants are perfect spots to get a taste of Australia’s delicious seafood.
If you’re looking for something a little more on the romantic side, Jonah’s at Whale Beach is a little slice of heaven on earth. Breakfast is the cheaper alternative and gives you the best chance to take in that incredible view!
A quick two hour flight from Sydney, we arrived in the capital city of South Australia and the City of Churches, Adelaide. South Australia is a great place to explore the exquisite (and sometimes barren) Aussie outback while indulging yourself in a few wine tastings along the way.
Stop for coffee at Kappy’s and don’t miss potentially one of the best pizzas you’ll ever eat – I’ll have to come back to you as to where this place is because right now, I can’t remember! Ha.
Back in Sydney, we salivated over this Spanish fiesta at Jah Bar, Manly…
Sipped the best Margaritas in town at Mexicano, Narrabeen…
And enjoyed some much loved tourist R&R on one of the most beautiful harbours in the world (might be slightly biased in saying that).
