The Swimming Club KL

This month, a new club is opening up in KL, and anyone with a pair of bathers looking for a good time is invited to join. Think candy-coloured architecture, tropical Mid-Century decor, and of course a glistening blue infinity pool; and you’ve got yourself The Swimming Club.

As part of The Kuala Lumpur Journal Hotels‘ renovation overhaul, the rooftop has been transformed in new most-instagram-worthy bar in KL. In line with the hotel’s approach to independent design, the rooftop pool bar has been infused with a tropical Mid-Century aesthetic. Imagine Palm Springs meets Penang Island Architecture, all curated by the weird and wonderful Wes Anderson – sounds interesting, right? Striking candy-coloured walls, retro patterned upholstery and decorative, steel screens will have you lost as to where to capture your first selfie. The overall aesthetic defines a new wave of retro Malaysian design.

Opening this month, The Swimming Club will prove an ideal place to unwind with friends and get that sun-kissed glow. As the sun dips below the horizon, taste your way through the list of classic cocktails with a local twist in hand.
